Wednesday, 18 March 2015 at 12:00 (CET)
Amsterdam – Netherlands

On 17th – 18th March 2015, coordinators and representatives of VPH EC-funded projects are invited to discuss around the two topics below:

Topic 1: Clinical data management (14.30 to 18.30 on March 17th 2015)
Clinical research has led to a growing demand for patient-specific data and subsequent clinical data sharing and management. Even though some EU legal requirements for data protection and privacy exist, each research project defines an ethical approval process for the use of the patient information and its own policies for sharing the data (internally or externally to the consortium). During the first day of workshop we will discuss the issue of a better and common definition of guidelines for the management, use, and share of clinical data.

Topic 2: Long term Sustainability of developed VPH technologies (8.00 to 12.00 on March 18th 2015)
Most of the large VPH projects are developing software components or an entire ICT infrastructure. While the excellence of the tools developed with state of the art technologies is not under discussion, there is more and more the issue of defining and promoting a concrete and effective long-term sustainability plan. On second day, the issue of a possible joint sustainability path in the VPH community will be discussed.

The event is organized by three running VPH projects: VPH-Share, P-Medicine, and MD-Paedigree, with the support of the VPH Institute.  The workshop will last for two half-days to allow an easy travel schedule to all the participants:
–          14.30 to 18.30 on March 17th,
–          8.00 to 12.00 on March 18th.
Considering the limited number of seats available, please note that this event is by invitation only. In case you wish to nominate some else from your project consortium to attend on your behalf, please let us know.  We will also consider additional expressions of interest to participate to the workshop.
